We make a priority of giving back to our communities and supporting causes we believe in.

Every year, we make a commitment to support and donate to deserving causes, including:

Cancer Funding

Rust has suffered the losses of many employees to cancer, including Complete Claim Solutions' (CCS) founder Dawn Addazio in 2008. Addazio named CCS after the initials of a dear friend who struggled with the challenges of breast cancer. In 2009, Rust launched its own cancer foundation, Project Solas, with the mission of raising awareness and funds for cancer prevention and research.

We have contributed tens of thousands of dollars through corporate contributions and employee-raised funds to a number of deserving organizations dedicated to eradicating cancer. Many employees dedicate their time to raising funds and participating in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, save lids to save lives®, Passionately Pink for the Cure®, the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® and other related activities.

Homelessness Prevention

Our Minnesota locations hold annual drives to collect donations of new and gently used clothing, food and other supplies for the homeless. In 2008, Rust donated over 2,000 pounds of food and household items to local shelters.

Support for Battered Women’s Shelters

Our employees hold an annual drive for used cell phones to distribute to women in need. These phones are programmed to allow these women or their children to call 911 in case of danger.

Youth Education

We hold an annual drive to provide children in need with school supplies. In addition, we participate annually in the Junior Achievement Big Bowl® competition, raising tens of thousands of dollars for K-12 business and economics education programs.

Legal Assistance

We regularly provide donations to organizations that provide legal assistance to underserved populations, including low-income and elderly people. These deserving organizations have included the Western Center on Law and Poverty, Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance, The Legal Aid Society and the ABA Fund for Justice and Education.

Environmental Protection

Rust and its employees have a special interest in environmental issues and have donated to the World Wildlife Fund and responded to the massive wildfires in California by donating to the wildfire relief efforts and the California Community Foundation.
